To the North!

I'm heading to Tobermory tomorrow (or later today, technically) to camp for the long weekend, which knocks off goal #50. That means 41 goals down! And slow progress on the remaining 60. But slow progress is still progress.

I've discovered that I might not be able to accomplish goal #51 - replacing the shed in Tobermory. But this is more because it wasn't a good goal for me to set in the first place, since it's really not up to just me to replace the shed, I have to get permission and approval of the replacement. Which I'm not getting. I have succeeded in convincing them that it needs to be replaced, but that might be as far as it goes this year. And since my goal time is up in May, I doubt we'll make it up here before then. But I think that if a goal cannot be completed due to forces beyond my control, I will just strike it from the list and not count it.

I've also started reading again, I'm working on a classic right now. I realized that I knew the storyline for Emma, and had seen the movie, but never actually read the book. So I'm spending some time in the early 1800s lately. After that I'm going to read about Einstein. I found a biography for him at my parents' house. Pretty sure he fits the bill for iconic! I'm hoping it is an interesting read. There's a list of 'characters' at the beginning of the book, and there are so many famous scientists and mathematicians listed. It's crazy to think back at how much has been discovered in the last century and a half, all the changes that have occurred. Things that were not even conceived of back then are now common place.

However, this weekend, I'll be heading to the rustic. Kind of. There's no cell service up there, but we're taking our DS's. We'll play them while we're cooking our food over the camp stove (normally over the fire, but there's a fire ban right now).

All tired out

I seriously need to start sleeping more! I think it's about time I worked on my no-snooze goals, and re-vamp my sleep habits. I have a tendency to stay up a lot later than is good for me.

I'm working on getting back on track with a few of my goals that got pushed aside. Tomorrow is a gym day, that's one of them. I've also been trying to knit a little bit each day, and working on donating at free rice again. If I don't start now, before you know it, it'll be too late to have any hope of finishing them. So that's kind of what I'm trying to do now. Make a bit of a game plan on how I"m going to get things done, or at least keep looking at the goals that are incomplete or not started, and get some fear going. Fear is a great motivator! Like the fear that I'm not going to fit into my bridesmaid dress . . . that's helping get me to the gym!

Now all I need to do is find some fear for the rest of the goals!

Bad Kid!

Time to play catch up. I'm going to have to post once a week for awhile to get back on track. I need to do this with a few of my goals . . .

I've completed my concert goal, with an extra even! Went to see Sloan and then also saw Weezer/The Tragically Hip on Canada Day. So I haven't fallen completely behind on everything. I even made it to Wonderland finally and went on a bunch of rides, so now I'm making progress on that goal too.

Fitness goals continue to be the hardest ones to accomplish. Other goals seem to fall into place sometimes without thinking about it, but the fitness ones require me to put in more effort. And that effort has been seriously lacking! I do have some new motivation though - bridesmaid dress. I bought shoes to go with my dress, and when I went to try them on together, things were more than a little snug. If I want to be comfortable on the big day, there needs to be a lot more effort. So I'm going for a run tomorrow morning! Hopefully that will be the start of getting back on track.

I was motivated to crochet recently, so I used up the old squares and made an afghan. The ends still need to be sewn in though, so I'm not marking it as complete until that happens. If I don't, the ends will never get sewn in. Sewing them got put aside for a surprise sewing project (baby blanket! I'm an aunt!), but now that I am done that I will get to the ends. It will be nice to craft in front of the TV again. I don't even bother trying with the sewing machine. It's too loud and requires too much focus. I'd get too caught up in the TV show and forget about sewing.

Recently I've also been thinking more seriously about buying a place instead of renting, so I've been earmarking funds for a purchase - another goal! When wedding things are over, I'm considering doing my third buy nothing month, to help me save a bit more. Every little bit counts. The more I have saved up, the better my options are. I think the hardest part will be deciding on where I want to live, not the saving part. Such a big decision!
