I'm taking some well-deserved and earned days off and heading to a beachy cottage to relax. I can't wait. I just have to get through packing, and I'm on my way. Darn packing, and me being a procrastinator. I'm also just getting over a summer cold, so I'm looking forward to that as well. Any leftover germs are going to get baked in the sun. And then drowned in some booze.
I went back to Wonderland recently and finished off that goal. Another one down! I'm getting a teeny bit closed. The goal jar thing is working ok. I've been good about doing stuff lately so I haven't been using it too much since I put it together. But I can see it there, and I think that even just the visual reminder is helping.
I've also been reading up a storm lately. I just finished a really interesting biography of Einstein. I'm taking a bit of a break with some 'filler' books, ones that aren't too heavy or difficult, just a pleasant and interesting read. Then I'm going to get started on the remaining book goals, get a bit further along on those.
On Monday I get a cat! Kind of. I'll be starting to take care of my friend's cat long-term, which I'm going to count for my goals because it is going to potentially be going past the end date of this project. Since I won't be getting a cat of my own while I'm caring for this one it makes sense to me to count it, especially since it will be for months not days. I can't wait to have kitty cuddles all the time!
This blog was started to track my attempt at the '101 in 1001 days' project, and will hopefully grow from there.

Spoke too soon!
Just when I give up on a goal, it all turns around. I thought that there was no way that I could get the shed in Tobermory replaced by next May. But, surprisingly, this last weekend things changed. It is now contracted to be replaced, so I get to count it as done. Maybe I should start writing off other goals!
I've been trying to think of other ways to stay on top of goals. Right now I'm toying with a goal-jar idea. I'm thinking that if I write out some of the smaller goals on little pieces of paper, and break down bigger goals into smaller chunks, I can fill a jar pretty easily. Then when I have some free time I can pull a goal-paper from the jar, and whatever it is, I have to complete it. That way I don't have to think about it and if I don't have a lot of time I can keep moving forward. So now I need to find a jar!
Right now I'm working on my freerice goal, trying to catch up a bit with that one. I'm making some progress, and learning some new words. I'm also currently reading 'The Merry Wives of Windsor', to make progress on my Shakespeare goal. I am so glad that the plays come with footnotes, old English can be quite confusing. And I'm making my way through a 'closet clean'. Instead of doing everything at once, I'm doing it by sections. So far I've only done 2 drawers, but I'm also not feeling frustrated about the process, or overwhelmed by everything that I have to go through. Since I'm planning on moving sometime soon, now seemed like a good time to finish off that goal.
