I 'fixed' my sewing machine today. Apparently the whole problem was that the combination of settings I had it on made it not work. I am super happy that this means that my machine is now usable and without major effort or having to pay someone to fix it. But I am also grumpy that I did not take the time to figure this out earlier. I guess that's what happens when you misplace the manual, then are too lazy to find it and go through it. Until today, when I discovered just how easy it was to fix my problem. At least that's one goal down. Since I also finally took the time to go through my rediscovered manual, I learned a lot about using my machine.
On another note - I can sew sailboats! SAILBOATS! I have an Elna and because I inherited it, it came with a bunch of embroidery discs. One of which is sailboats. Another is ducks. I am now trying to come up with projects that will use fun stitches and not look completely juvenile. First I have to get to Hallowe'en. Tomorrow's project is finding the fabric I need.
